NEW COURSE ADDED TO LEARNING TREE IT SECURITY CURRICULUM
ETHICAL HACKING AND COUNTERMEASURES: HANDS-ON
RESTON, VA (November 30, 2006) Learning Tree International (NASDAQ NM: LTRE) announced today it will be extending its IT Security curriculum with a new course entitled Ethical Hacking and Countermeasures: Hands-On. The 4-day course will consist of an expert instructor leading attendees in extensive hands-on exercises designed to model hacking methods and heighten awareness for the purpose of improving organizational security measures.
Participants will also be taught how to:
- Deploy ethical hacking to expose weaknesses and select countermeasures
- Gather intelligence using social engineering, published data and scanning tools
- Improve their security by probing and compromising their network using hacking tools
- Prevent intrusions by protecting against privilege escalation
- Defend against evasions of antivirus, firewalls and IDS
Ethical Hacking and Countermeasures: Hands-On is valuable for security consultants, auditors, firewall/IDS personnel and those responsible for securing enterprise systems from unwanted intrusion.
Ethical Hacking and Countermeasures: Hands-On augments existing Learning Tree security-related courses, including Introduction to System and Network Security, Deploying Internet and Intranet Firewalls: Hands-On, Hands-On Introduction to TCP/IP, UNIX and Linux Security: Hands-On, Securing Windows Server 2003: Hands-On, Computer Forensics and Incident Response: Hands-On, Disaster Recovery Planning: Ensuring Business Continuity and Vulnerability Assessment: Protecting Your Organization.
Learning Tree intends to begin presenting Ethical Hacking and Countermeasures: Hands-On in North America in December 2006 and at its London Education Center in February 2007.

- Washington, DC (Rockville, MD) — January 2-5, 2007
- Ottawa, ON — January 30-February 2, 2007
- London, England — February 13-16, 2007
