RESTON, VA (May 15, 2008) Learning Tree International (NASDAQ NM: LTRE) today added a new offering to its extensive IT Security curriculum with the addition of its latest course, Controlling Network Access. Over 4 days, an expert instructor will lead attendees through intensive hands-on exercises designed to provide practical experience in the application of access control methodology.
Participants will also receive instruction in how to:
- Secure enterprise networks using access control tools and best practices
- Deploy advanced filtering techniques to add state and support Quality of Service (QoS)
- Block attack traffic using Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) and application-level firewalls
- Detect, mitigate and limit the impact of zero-day attacks with IPS
- Deny rogue and distrusted access with Network Access Control (NAC) and 802.1x authentication
Controlling Network Access is valuable for those responsible for configuring routers and switches or controlling access to and from remote sites. This includes network engineers, firewall engineers, security architects, systems engineers, network and system administrators, and computer security officers. The course is also valuable for anyone directly involved with an organization’s security.
